Run better meetings. Produce clearer minutes. Drive stronger follow-through.

This practical assistant-first programme helps you move beyond simply taking notes. You will learn how to use Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 and AI to capture decisions clearly, assign actions confidently and keep meetings moving from discussion to delivery. The result is less chasing, less stress and more control over the work that matters.

If you want training that changes how meeting support gets done, not just how minutes are written, this course was built for you. Book your place below or enquire about team training.

  • Save time: reduce manual note chasing, duplication and unclear follow-up
  • Gain control: create a more consistent process before, during and after meetings
  • Support leaders better: provide clearer decisions, actions, deadlines and accountability
  • Use Microsoft and AI properly: work with Teams, Copilot and Microsoft 365 in real meeting workflows
  • Build your strategic value: move from reactive admin to visible, higher-value support

Why capable assistants still find meetings draining

Most assistants are not struggling because they lack effort. They are struggling because meetings often create more work than momentum. Actions are missed, follow-up is unclear, hybrid conversations are harder to track, and Microsoft tools are used only partially. Add the pressure to keep up with AI, and it becomes easy to stay busy without ever feeling fully in control.

  • Minutes take too long to write up
  • Decisions and actions are not captured clearly enough
  • Follow-up depends on memory, inboxes and manual chasing
  • Teams meetings generate content, but not always usable output
  • AI sounds promising, but accuracy, confidence and real application still feel uncertain
  • Generic training teaches formats and features without changing the workflow

From minute-taking to meeting workflow control

This is assistant transformation first, minutes training second. You will learn how to structure the whole meeting cycle so that preparation is tighter, note-taking is clearer, actions are easier to assign and follow-through is more visible.

Using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 and AI in practical assistant workflows, you will learn how to:

  • prepare more effectively for physical, hybrid and Teams meetings
  • capture decisions, agreements and actions with greater clarity
  • use Teams Recap, Teams Notes and Copilot to speed up post-meeting work
  • turn actions into follow-through using Outlook Tasks, Planner, OneNote, Loop and Microsoft tools that fit the situation
  • improve accuracy, grammar and structure so minutes are clearer and more professional
  • reduce stress by building a repeatable system instead of starting from scratch every time
  • support leaders with better organisation, stronger communication and more reliable execution

What you will be able to do after the course

  • write minutes that are shorter, clearer and more useful
  • separate discussion from decisions, actions and accountability
  • manage meeting admin more confidently before, during and after the meeting
  • use Microsoft Teams more effectively for scheduling, meeting control, recap and collaboration
  • use Copilot and AI to summarise, draft and identify actions faster while keeping human judgement and accuracy
  • choose the right Microsoft tool for each type of follow-up instead of forcing everything into email
  • handle hybrid meetings with more structure and less risk of missed detail
  • create stronger follow-through that helps leaders see progress, not just paperwork

Why this is different

Generic training teaches note formats. This course transforms meeting workflows.

  • Generic training teaches minute-taking as a document task. This course teaches meeting support as a full workflow across Teams, Microsoft 365 and AI.
  • Generic training focuses on writing minutes. This course focuses on preparation, capture, actions, follow-up and accountability.
  • Generic training teaches features in isolation. This course shows how Teams, Copilot and Microsoft tools work together in real assistant work.
  • Generic training adds knowledge. This course helps you implement a more effective way of working immediately.

This is not passive learning. It is practical implementation for assistants who want better control, better output and better visibility.

Built for real assistant work

You will work through the realities assistants actually face: fast-moving discussions, unclear ownership, action tracking, hybrid meeting dynamics, live note-taking pressure, post-meeting follow-up and the need to produce polished minutes without wasting time.

You will also learn where AI genuinely helps and where professional judgement still matters. That means using Microsoft and AI to save time without lowering standards.

Who this course is for

  • Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants and senior Assistants supporting leaders and teams
  • Assistants who take minutes regularly and want a faster, more reliable process
  • Professionals who use Teams every day but know they are underusing its meeting capabilities
  • Assistants who want to use Copilot and AI practically, not vaguely
  • Organisations that want clearer meeting output, stronger accountability and better return on Microsoft investment

Delivered by Paul Pennant

Paul Pennant combines real Executive Assistant experience with over 20 years of specialist training expertise and recognised Microsoft authority. As a Microsoft MVP, he is known for turning complex Microsoft and AI capability into practical, relevant systems assistants can use immediately.

This is why Today’s PA stands apart from generic Microsoft, AI and assistant training. The focus is not on showing buttons. The focus is on changing how assistants work, so the impact is visible in the workplace.

Why this is worth the investment

For assistants, the return is faster write-up, less chasing, more confidence and greater control over meeting follow-through. For organisations, the return is better meeting discipline, stronger action ownership, improved leader support and better use of the Microsoft tools already in place.

  • less time lost to rewriting, clarifying and chasing actions
  • better prioritisation and workflow control
  • stronger communication after meetings
  • more consistent accountability across teams
  • better use of Teams, Microsoft 365 and AI
  • higher-value assistant contribution and greater visibility

Need manager approval?

This course is easy to justify because it improves a high-friction area of assistant work that affects leaders, teams and delivery. Better meetings do not come from more discussion. They come from clearer decisions, clearer actions and better follow-through. This course helps assistants build exactly that using the Microsoft environment your organisation already pays for.

What assistants say

“His Copilot and AI training has opened my eyes to new ways of working smarter, not harder.”

Mia Lane – Manager, Executive & Administration, UKG

“On the first day I used it I completed 13 tasks.”

Sarah Sherriff – MOD

That is the difference between learning tools and changing workflows.

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the minute taking course Ana and I did with you. I have to admit that I was dreading the day as I have always hated minute taking and thought the course would be hell and boring too. How wrong I was! Not only did you make the day very rewarding and fun, but I also learnt so much. I have returned  to the office totally fired up and actually looking forward to the next time I have to take minutes, so I can put these new ideas into practice. I never thought I would say that! Thank you again, good luck with the awards
My inbox is now very brightly coloured with very pleasing categories of which ‘Waiting For….’ is definitely my favourite!  My task list is pleasing but a work in progress.  My week has been made up of rocks and sand and hopefully more so next week after my weekly review.  Assertive behaviour is being worked on and the ‘can you come back in 30 minutes’ question has been used daily. Quite a number of friends have expressed interest in your courses, especially one of my excel-geek friends. Thanks for all your help and encouragement. The course has literally transformed the way I work and feel about my work.
More efficient emails: I now have a 3 min delay and now never send emails without the attachments. The best email in the world: I send this when planning our Christmas parties. Okay, it takes me about 45 minutes to write up the email and all the possible replies and to make the rules but once it is done, I don’t think about it again. Regular meetings with my boss: I knew I needed these but seemed to be happy enough to just wait until he suggested it. Attending the course gave me the confidence boost I needed to tell him that I needed it. We now catch-up weekly and I know which meetings need to be attended and which can be delayed.
One job on my newly constructed task list is to write a quick email to you. Thank you for the input you gave over the two days of the course. I had a great time and it was both informative and entertaining. Now all I need is the discipline to put things into practise. I am meeting with my boss in a few minutes and have got a few suggestions to put to him. As he will be away for several weeks to write his dissertation I will be responsible to filter through his emails and have full reign of his outlook. What a chance! Thanks again for all you have taught us and the treats along the way. P.S. Just met with the boss and he is very interested in the filing structure, loves the idea of filtering our...
