PA Training Top Tips #1

Starting a new PA training course is exciting!  The possibilities for networking, learning new skills, and boosting your confidence are endless.

But to get the very best from your course (and to take advantage of all the opportunities) you may need to change your mindset.

Getting into the right frame of mind to learn is the top tip for successful PA training.  So rule number one is: switch off from work!

Think about it for a moment. You’ve scheduled “Training Course” into your diary; you’ve arranged cover for the time you’re away; you’ve reminded your boss and your colleagues that you will be out of the office – but have you reminded yourself?

Try to focus on the course, not on what may or may not be happening in the office. Resist the temptation to ring in at the first – or every – coffee break.  A quick check-in at lunchtime, even just to say how well the training is going, is fine.  But don’t take it upon yourself to deal with any problems ‘back at the ranch’. You can’t control what’s happening there. You can, however, control how much you take away from your course.

And don’t you owe it to yourself to get the best out of your PA training?
