Working as a PA is such an exciting, busy and demanding role that it’s often easy to underestimate the stress that can result from this.
Stress can creep up on you, quietly and stealthily. Ever-increasing demands on time and resources mean PAs can suddenly find themselves under enormous stress – constant, unremitting pressure day after day, week after week. So making sure PAs look after themselves, as well as their bosses, is an important part of PA training.
Good PA training focuses on both professional and personal development. Managing day-to-day stress and showing how to recognise the signs and to tackle the cause of the problem is a small but important part of any PA training course.
It may not be one of the first things you think about when choosing a course, but participating in a workshop that focuses on stress management will teach you strategies and coping techniques – ones you can use both in and outside work.
